The Rotary Club of Prospect has recently embarked on an initiative aimed at helping the homeless and victims of domestic violence in our community. We prepared care packages for donation to Lutheran Community Care, a non-profit organization that works to support vulnerable individuals and families in South Australia.
The care packages included essential items aimed at providing comfort to those experiencing challenging times in their life. In addition to these practical items, the care packages also serve as a reminder of hope and help to bring a sense of dignity to people’s lives.
In total 120 packages were prepared, 50 Domestic Violence packages, 50 for Homelessness and 20 Children’s packages.
Lutheran Community Care assisted in allocating these care packages. At the end of the Project, we still had some cash available, and allocated $500 to source sleeping bags to assist with winter planning.
The initiative was led by the Rotary Club of Prospect, a community service organization dedicated to making a positive difference in the world. The club has a long history of supporting local and international initiatives aimed at promoting peace, improving health, and supporting education. This latest initiative is just one example of the club’s commitment to serving others and making a positive impact in our local community.
The care packages were donated to Lutheran Community Care, a non-profit organization that has been providing support to individuals and families in South Australia for over 80 years. The organization provides a range of services, including emergency relief, community development, and aged care, to help those in need. The care packages donated by the Rotary Club of Prospect will be distributed to those who need them most, providing some much-needed support and comfort during difficult times.
Our thanks to all Rotarians, volunteers and those who donated items to the care packages that made this initiative a reality!
