Corolla Capers 2022

The principal aims of this event are:

  • To take a rear-wheel-drive Toyota Corolla, under 1800cc and of pushrod design engine, that passes scrutiny, and put it and driving skills to the test in outback conditions.
  • To have fun driving and camping.
  • To make and renew friendships and to raise funds for nominated projects.

2022 Corolla Capers is a celebration of 20 years of odysseys.

The itinerary took us back up the Birdsville track, revisits to Wilpoorinna and Mungerannie and onto the iconic township of Birdsville. The convoy then headed east then south across the Sturt Stony Desert via Cordillo Downs to Innamincka and the Coopers Creek. We returned again to the stretches of the Strzelecki Track, on to Lyndhurst and on the ninth day we proceeded home via Leigh Creek and Hawker.

The Rotary Club of Prospects participants were:-

Arch Boonen & Trevor King….Car 9

Ken Adams….Car 7

Barrie Trevarrow….Car 22

Along the way we had various fund-raising events and this year we raised about $18000.

As always, a lot of fun was had by all and we are already looking forward to next year.
