Step back in time to 1950. The post-war era was one of great optimism and growth in Adelaide. In the suburb of Prospect, new homes were steadily replacing market gardens, the clang of the tram was a familiar sound along Prospect Road, and a powerful spirit of community was taking hold. It was in this burgeoning, hopeful environment that a group of forward-thinking local leaders came together to charter the Rotary Club of Prospect, dedicating themselves to the ideal of ‘Service Above Self’

For three-quarters of a century, our club has been a cornerstone of this community, turning that founding principle into a tangible legacy. Through countless hours of volunteering and fundraising, we have proudly supported local schools, championed youth leadership programs, and enhanced our beautiful local parks and community spaces. Our impact has also been felt globally, as we have contributed to major Rotary International initiatives, most notably the incredible, near-complete mission to eradicate Polio from the world.

This history of friendship, service, and unwavering commitment is a legacy worth celebrating. We invite all members, past members, friends of Rotary, and community partners to join us in honouring this remarkable 75-year milestone.
